SEO

So first of all, what is SEO?

SEO is stands for search engine optimization, and it is basically a fancy term that describes the processes that are done to improve your website’s visibility to Google and other search engines.

Ok, well that’s great and all. But it seems like a lot of work – does it really matter that much?

Let me ask you this: Have you ever looked up your product names or some of the services that you offer on Google? If you are a small local business or perhaps just starting out, there is a good chance that you may not be one of the first results to show up on the search engine results page. And if you are in a competitive industry, your business may not even be on the second or third page.

So why does this matter?

More 90% of people never click past that first results page.

Which means that no matter how great your business is, or how great your website is, you likely won’t see much traffic if you aren’t on that first page. And how do you get on the first page? SEO.

Do I really need an SEO audit?

The short answer is YES! Conducting a regular SEO audit should absolutely be a priority in your digital strategy because what good is having a website if your customers can’t find it?

Even a small technical SEO issue can cause big problems and end up costing you valuable customers and business. By conducting a site audit, you can ensure that your site is crawlable by Google and other search engines, plus it will identify any technical SEO problems on your website, and find opportunities to potentially improve your site’s ranking, which in turn would help improve your website’s organic search traffic.

Here’s how it works:

01. Client Brief

You complete my short client brief that will outline your current marketing strategy and what your goals are going forward. Then you sign a scope of work contract, pay the deposit and I get started right away!

06. Mobile Useability Test

Since 2018, Google has prioritized mobile page load speed as a key metric when determining a website’s search result ranking, so I will see if your site is mobile and tablet responsive.

05. Backlink Analysis

Here, I will do an in-depth look at your backlink profile, and make note of any that are spam and need to be disavowed, as well as look for opportunities to improve your backlink strategy.

02. Website Crawl

I will start the audit by using the Screaming Frog SEO Tool in order to crawl your entire website. Then I will create a list of technical issues that need to be fixed.

03. Page Speed Tests

Due to the updated Google algorithm, page speed is now a ranking factor, so I will test your current speed by using the Google PageSpeed tool, in addition to completing a Lighthouse test and will uncover opportunities to improve your page speed score.

04. Robots.txt Files/ Structured Data

I will look at your robots.txt, robots meta tags, and also your structured data, to identify issues that could be causing problems with having your website crawled and indexed properly by Google.
